Capitalism synonymous to Cannibalism

Title sounds very upsetting and weird. But the fact is, it is true.

Before we move on to capitalism, lets talk about rats, yes those creepy rodents. Rats caused havoc when the population of rats increased to unimaginable numbers in southern island of New Zealand. The numbers went so high that, the food resources were not enough to sustain the mammoth mischief of rats, the only thing the rats can eat was themselves. The survival of the fittest, those weak and injured would not survive long, they would be eaten up by their own fraternity....Cannibalism.

Why is this when we want to talk about capitalism, there is a stark resemblance in capitalism and the story of rats.

Life....This is not you or me or just humans, its about every living thing in this world. Every living thing is a representative of life. Life is passed on to the next generations for thousands or millions of years. For humans, life is a little different than it is for others, that is because humans have many more emotions and great intelligence compared to any other living thing. These new aspects in humans give that extra control over our race compared to other races. With this control over things, we can define our own path for our race.

If a society of humans decides that all are equal, then the longevity of human race will be high, because the concept of survival of the fittest will not be practiced. If the population grows, whatever the resources are available will be shared.

If a society of humans decide that the individuals are responsible for their well being, that is when the culture of survival of the fittest kicks in. Competition among the individual at all levels can be seen. Whosoever is not at par with the competition will be second grade citizens. This encourages individuals take any routes to be afloat in the society, be it ethical, non-ethical, moral or immoral. The bar keeps moving up with newer commodities get introduced. The society reaches high level of intelligence because of the competitive spirit. People with high intelligence and competitive spirit rule the society. The most intelligent will be the richest, in other words rich people rule the world.

The gap between the intelligent and not very intelligent will increase many folds. The second grade citizens with lesser intelligent credentials look for alternative ways to belong to upper society. So, the rulers of the society will end up with either very intelligent and competitive or those who take the alternative route who are not intelligent but rich. This alternative route is the same route the rats had taken when they ran out of food in the New Zealand island. People with strong urge to be the leaders loot the weak, the weak or the poor has no place in the society. The poor in the society are there to be looted by the strong and the determined who would want to belong to the upper society or the leaders or the rich.

This is the same society we are in, the leaders of the society who are rich but not intelligent are just like rodents who would live by eating their own race....Cannibals.

Do we need such a competitive and intelligent society which will kills our own race?

Unfortunately, we are already deep in this rigmarole rut.  So, good luck all those born poor and those with 80 or less IQ.

Butterfly Effect

This theory says that a butterfly flaps in one part of the world can lead to some great weather changes somewhere on the other side of the earth.

For reference
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_effect

Interesting... What about this...
A star away hundreds of light years changing the way man behaves. hmmm...

The theory of Sneeze and Dolphin (Don't google, I coined it ;)). If I have some valid data that says, whenever I sneeze, there is a dolphin in Indian ocean makes that big leap out of the water. Though they are not related, it happens 90% of the times. So, do you agree that Dolphin or the sneeze has control over one another.

I dont think so. You can relate data randomly and make it look as if it makes sense. But it does not. Think of the traditions we follow. Somebody has done something and he gained millions of dollars, and all the mankind start doing it. It wont work. Point is all the traditions which has only stories associated are no good to be followed. Think before you say "I do it because its a tradition".

Method to Represent a Graph in a Color Coded Strip

This article describes the idea of having a strip of color codes to represent a line graph.

Problem Statement:
In a web page, the space is always a constraint. To have a graph in the web page would require some amount of space to make the graph look meaningful. If the size if reduced, then the graph will not make any sense. In the figure below, the space taken by the graph is much larger than any of the areas.

Solution:
The solution addresses the problem by having a simple color coded strip which will give all the information in the graph. The figure below shows a sample strip as to how it looks.

This strip will give a picture of the graph as to what is the highest point and the least point and the box at the end will also provide you the average or the SLA line in the graph. Its takes much lesser space and is easy to understand. Along with the strip, there is a scale which will be shown to determine the value in the strip above. From the strip below, once can easily understand as to what are the high/low and medium trends in the graph.

Now that we have the way to represent data, how is that we can transform the existing lie graph to the strip?
Consider a typical line graph, this will be something like shown below

To convert the above graph and create a new graph, a coloring scheme should be applied, for this example, we are using 2 colors and the scale will look like as shown below.

After applying the color scheme scale to the graph, the graph would look like this

The above graph can be converted into a color strip by picking each box of the data point. The outcome of the the above graph as a color strip is shown below

Cricket - A Life Game

1.     For cricket. There will be a timeline and a man should go to maximum length, during the process he should avoid the bullets being fired. Each bullet that hits will make him weaker and if he is hit 10 times before the time given elapses then the target set will be the point to reach for the second person to reach within the same timeline.
a.     Each time a bullet hits, the person should make a strategy to use his resources.
b.     The resources will be adrenalin, patience, perseverance
c.      Using the resource at the right time will give the player the advantage.
2.     A nail-biting cricket match finish can be recreated with this by replacing the strategy of cricket with the resources of the player.

3.     A game played can also be reconstructed as a cricket match.

An Air Powered Moped - Actually Works

Sometime back I was watching this on National Geographic, this is the kind of stuff I enjoy most on TV. The programme was about coming out with a moped which does not pollute the air and should be good enough to carry a person a few KMs within the city's traffic and most importantly should not use any fossil fuels.

Two guys Dick and Jem who designed, built and anchored the show. The frame of the moped which they picked I think was from a nearby junkyard, it only had the frame and wheels, no engine or chains. These guys mounted two cylinders on either side of the bike. The air is pumped into these cylinders, the pressure in each cylinder can hold is air pressure greater than 300 times of atmospheric pressure (thats what I remember).

These guys designed the sprockets and mounted chains on them and on the day before the D-Day they wanted to test this and Dick was all set to take off, the bike was making all sorts of sound but would not budge. Both men looked very disappointed (I dont know whether they really were or just doing Steve Irwin) and redesigned/aligned the sprockets and then it happened, the bike started moving, Dick rode it first being a skinny among the two and then it was Jem's turn, it could move and can carry a person more than 100 Kilos.

And then they went to the experts and did all sorts of tests to prove that it works.

The best part I liked about the program is that they did something which people only can think of. Its so satisfying after the hard day's work and it comes out as planned. I also loved Junkyard wars on Discovery, I would love to be a part of it someday.

Energy From Doors

This can be achieved in large work places like IT parks where there are large number of doors. Each door is open and shut tens(hundreds in some cases) of times. Manual force is applied to open the door, this energy can be tapped using a string attached to a power generator. If implemented efficiently, this can generate some good amount of power.

Simple Water Harvesting Technique

Things you need.
1. A large plastic sheet.
2. Few plastic bottles
4. Some sand
5. A PVC pipe (half a meter)
6. A pipe connector.
And of course some rains soon.

1. Take a large piece of platic sheet
2. Across the edges, sew or attach half inch loops.
3. Cut a hole about 1 feet inside the edge of the sheet.
4. Place the PVC pipe inside the hole, so that one end is on one side of the sheet and the other is on the other side
5. Tape the pipe to the sheet
6. Attach the connector to the pipe.
7. Take about 8 (Many the better) 2 Litre Coke plastic bottles
8. Fill half of  each with sand. You can fill it water as well.
9. Go on top of your building, and spread the plastic sheet.
10. Place each of the bottles across the edges and put the loops around the bottle neck.
11. Make sure the connector end of the pipe is outside the tank,
12. Connect the other end of the pipe to the other pipe which ends in the water tank.
13. Wait for the rains.

Easy to make,
Easy to dis-assemble.
Easy to deploy.
Easy to maintain.
Easy to fix.

Depends on rain :).
